I travel, I learn, I observe, I challenge myself, I grow.
I photograph, I eat, I write, I play, I travel, I dream
and then I travel some more.
There’s no other way to put it, I suffer from “chronic travel disorder”. I’m an addict. Always thinking about my next fix and how to get it. I tried detox for a while and was clean for three years, but then I relapsed and I’m loving every moment of it!
It all started in 1985, I was born in a small hospital on top of a mountain on the equator line in the Congo -I’m not making this stuff up.
I believe I was bitten by a dangerous tropical bug right then and there. The travel bug got under my skin and till this day I have had to learn to live with it.
I’m an international Belgian who has resided in several countries around the world such as Rwanda, Saudi-Arabia, Tanzania, USA, Belgium, Ecuador and Indonesia.
After traveling through more than 60 countries I realised maybe I had gathered quite some insight and knowledge to help out or entertain anyone interested. So I started this blog to record my travels but also to spread the travel love and share my adventures.

You’ve traveled a tremendous amount and I love it especially because you are so young. I am curious as to how you make it happen for instance, what is your occupation and means of traveling. I’m currently getting my masters and haven’t travel internationally for a year and change and for me that is too long I always feel like I’m missing something if I don’t travel…

How did you handle food in Myanmar? Many tourists get sick after eating Myanmar food because they prepare very fresh vegetables but meats are dangerously kept in the open market with flies everywhere. I hope you were not sick with food-poison.
Well Menrihei, I must say, during the three weeks I was there, I didn’t get sick at all and I ate at local/street food places every day. The key is to go to popular places, because then you know the food is fresh; having many customers these places have to replace the food often, then you know it hasn’t been there for long! Hi, like many others I am interested how you can support yourself. Although I am heading back to my beloved Ubud with a stack on non paying activities in mind; like painting, marketing my art tours by learning about marketing online (a new area for me as I am an art teacher), doing some volunteer teaching and writeing some art education kits, it would be great to have an online job at least a few days a week. Love love the blog! i have also been bitten by the travel bug and after a lot of yes i will, no i won’t, i’m finally in the process of planning my own trip for 2015 starting out in Africa and taking it up to Asia before finally Europe. I am a solo female so it scary.. Would you be able to share how you are able to fund your travels, and what the cost is really like, advice on keeping cost low to travel further, getting from one place to another etc, i have money saved up all year, but i still don’t know how far that will get me. look forward to a response 🙂 thanks!!!

How do you plan your financial for travelling, i.e. do you put some money aside from your monthly income? Also, i adore those pictures you took, stunningly gorgeous! Great to find your blog. I lived in 4 countries and one island myself and traveled a couple countries throughout the years, but by far not as many like you. I was in Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya beginning of the year and badly want to go back and continue further south of the continent, but this time on a much longer term to study more French, Swahili and dive deeper into the cultures. How did you manage it financially to travel that many countries? What do you do for a living if you don’t mind me asking.

Hey Antje! I’m glad to hear you had such a good time in Africa! Learning Swahili there= waw! It’s quite an easy language to learn so that should go well… French however… Haha! Great plans! To answer your question about the finances, I get that question a lot and I’ve promised to write a blog post about it. But to give you a quick and short answer; many of my travels I did while I was a student. In other words, spending all my money on it 🙂 I have never regretted it!
